I'm not sure how this season is going to turn out, but I am pretty excited to get things going. We have already seen glimpses of Curtis Granderson's replacement, Austin Jackson. The guy is off to a GREAT start and looks to have a great combination of speed and power. Scott Sizemore is back in the lineup today at 2B, but I am not convinced he will be an everyday player. Magglio is supposedly in the best shape of his career and was secretly dealing with his wife's health problems last season, which is why he was not the normal Magglio. If his bat gets going, it will make the middle of the lineup that much scarier. Keeping everyone healthy is going to be key to the Tiger offense. Maybe if they have hitting issues, Darrell Evans could come back???
As far as pitching goes, who is going to be the 5th starter? Maybe a better question is can Jeremy Bonderman even secure the 4th spot? He had a very rocky outing the other day and his health is a big concern. Between Verlander & Porcello, they should account for at least 30 wins. Hopefully the rest of the starters can combine for 25. I won't comment on the middle relief and closers until I have a chance to watch them a little more. Innings 6-9 are always an adventure and the relief pitching has a ton to prove this year.
